SKB was not prepared to let twenty-five years of success pass without celebrating the occasion, so on 3rd October 2009, assembled at the Springfield Lakes Hotel for a formal dinner. Present and former members of SKB, with partners and friends, watched demonstrations of Shotokan karate and were reminded of SKB’s history and the achievements of its practitioners. Kelly Roberts was awarded the designation of Sensei, in recognition of many years of teaching and coaching at a high level, and Angie Grunwell received an award for her contribution to SKB and of course her management and support of the Queensland Karate Team.

The photographs include members who travelled from Tasmania, Sydney and North Queensland. Greetings were received from many styles of karate, in Australia and overseas. Thanks are due to Kelly, Angie and the Hotel staff. We look forward to seeing you at the next function!
